White Widow came out of the Netherlands in 1994, released by Green House Seeds in Amsterdam, and its parents are a Brazilian sativa and a resin-rich South Indian hybrid from Kerala. Who actually bred it is still argued over: some credit Shantibaba, then a Green House co-founder, while others credit the Dutch breeder Ingemar. The name comes from the frosty white coat of resin on the classic's buds.
